Anniversary with a Writers Block

by Grace Njeri

Do you know that I spend a lot of time thinking of what the little blurb at the beginning of my post is going to be.

The sentence that is going to get your attention…the one that is funny, witty and captivating to get people to want to “read more”

Do people even want to read this stuff??

Its been more than a week since I did a post and the blogger’s block didn’t want me to have a post last week.

Eleven days to my blog anniversary!!  It’s almost been one year.  I hope you still have room for me in your heart – Please have room because I am just getting started. This is probably the worst time to have a writer’s block because as the days go by I am more and more scared of doing mediocre work.

With March here, I feel like my year is starting now so looking back, I do have a lot of things to be grateful for and a lot of hard lessons learnt too.

Favorite Moment(s)

My ultimate moment was sharing “It sucks to be skinny.”  Your reaction, comments and emails were everything!! To me that meant a lot because that was the first time I shared an extremely personal aspect of my life on the blog. If you didn’t read that post, you can find it here.

Not-So Favorite Moment(s)

Like I asked earlier… Do you want to read this?

Those moments of self-doubt have been my not so favorite moments.

I read somewhere a little while back that the chances of creating something mediocre and something great are just the same. Now I can’t prove that hypothesis but I don’t want to take my chances either.

Thank you:

Mwaniki not only for the great photos but more so for seeing my vision that day we met at Sarit food court to discuss my blog. You have captured every moment perfectly!

Mia: Make up artist, phone photographer, pose creator, proof reader etc. – Thank you.

Thanks to Wiza, who has edited my rubbish typos and helped maintain the blog.

Gabriel, for the advice, strategy, pointers and everything  –  Thank you too.

To my family and friends who are forcefully but faithfully subscribed to my blog and read my posts without failure! thank you .

To you my reader, what would I do without you?? I could never thank you enough.

Outfit: Top, Trousers, Nakshi_Nouba Lips

Love always
