My New Year Resolutions

by Grace Njeri

So so so much has been going on in my life over the past weeks (in a good but overwhelming way) I promise to give you a life update in my next heart to heart. Tik Tok to Christmas and right after that new years comes too quick. As we approach the new year, everyone is busy making hardcore resolutions that they might not stick to. I have sworn for the last two years I will start reading more books yet I have only read one book all year or is it in the last two years. This year I have decided to write down those things that matter most to me, that I promise to value and uphold.

What are your new year resolutions? Feel free to list yours on the comments section below:

1. Work hard –In fact work my butt off!!

We do not want to be branded as the lazy generation. Worse off, you do not want to be the person who sucks at their job. It takes a lot of discipline especially in my case where I am only answerable to myself so I have to commit to my word and intentions.

2. See new places

I feel like I have read enough travel magazines and made so many plans to travel to some particular place but never see them through. I do believe there is still a way to see the world and have a good time even on the tightest budget. This time, I intend to follow them through.

3. Meet new people.

This year I have really shelved myself and missed out on so many interesting events and opportunities. I usually end up staying at home most of the time, sit in front of my laptop and just get lost in there. Next year I will get over my social shyness and get out there!! See you guys out there!

4. Calm down

I am guilty of over thinking and complicating things. My solution: Keep it simple, try to put problems into perspective. Easier said than done but I will at least try.

5. Never, ever stop learning.

There is always so much more to learn no matter how old you are or how many degrees you have. For me, that means more travel, more reading and more writing.

I love this Grace,
My thoughts written by another person. I have the same resolutions and I’m sure they will make 2017 a better year.
