72 Hours in Mombasa – Sarova Whitesands

by Grace Njeri

Greetings from Mombasa,

Well, when I was there 2 weeks ago.

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to actually post this one. Between the transition from Blended Bacon to the Blendie, time just flew.

Yea well, I had a blast and I wanted to share what we did in our 72 hours.

Where we stayed : Sarova Whitesands Mombasa

Ideally, Whitesands is the best place to do nothing! But chilling in a hotel and sleeping all day is so not my style.

What we did:

Mia and I always drop our bags in the room and the next thing we do is walk from one corner of the hotel to the other to make sure we identify the best spots in our opinion and identify what to do the next day.

Swim : I haven’t recovered from the tan I got this time around. We arrived on Saturday late afternoon and didn’t swim on that day but we spent most of Sunday and Monday by the pool and in the pool.

Jet Skis: We went on Jet skis later on Sunday afternoon. That was fun but I’m probably not doing it again.

Side note: I gave the instructor my phone to take a photo but unfortunately this is what I got.

Volley Ball on the beach: Later on Sunday afternoon, we played volley ball on the beach. I have new respect for volley ball players: Looks easy till you’re on the field. My arms were in pain for days!!

Birthday Dinner: This was actually the highlight of my trip. The Whitesands  staff prepared a tribal dance  and song for me after dinner.

Spa Day: We took it easy on Monday, went to the beach to take some photos, had lunch and the highlight was spending the whole afternoon at Tulia Spa. This was the best way to end my birthday weekend before coming back to Nairobi.

Looks: Some of my looks that weekend

Love Always!
